How It Works
Haze from the Bird Buffer works to repel birds
while in flight. It is most effective when birds are flying
in, before they roost or sleep. While in flight, birds breathe
30X faster, and the haze is inhaled at a faster, effective
rate.
Bird Buffer works with tested and approved bird
repellant, MA (Methyl Anthranilate).
MA, is a safe grape juice concentrate and flavoring used in
many food products including bubble gum and is USFDA approved
(United States Food and Drug Administration ). The Bird Buffer
is operated by an electrically controlled air compressor/blower
motor to vaporize the fluid.
When the Bird Buffer is turned on, haze is immediately
emitted. The tiny particles of haze (less than 10 microns)
enter the birds breathing system. It becomes an irritant and
the birds fly away. When the birds come back, they once again
breath the irritant and fly away. Birds soon remember the
irritant in the area…and stay away.
The benefits of haze
Because of this non-heated vaporization process,
the scent that is emitted is more pleasant than with much more
standard fog machines. The haze is a very transparent (almost
invisible) smooth substance, unlike a thick, quick disappearing
fog. Haze lasts up to 4 hours in the atmosphere and in enclosed
areas. Outside, the haze travels further because of its lasting
quality. With the hang time of haze being 40X longer than
fog, the result is a longer treatment where you want it, using
less fluid. Haze does not effect other animals or people.
The Bird Buffer launches particles out of its
2”x2” nozzle at a very high velocity of 90mph.
This spreads the particles apart, and makes the bird haze
virtually invisible.
Unlimited cycle-timer capabilities
When plugged into the 24 hour timer and the
power switch is turned on, the blower pushes out the haze.
A remote control with cycle-timer turns on the bird haze
and runs the blower. The bird haze cycle timer can be
adjusted to run at the highest traffic time for flying
birds. Then set
for a
lower rate of dispersment when the birds have left.
Why is Automation of the machine important?
In our studies, we have found that the automation is extremely key to good bird control. By offering a timer that turns the machine on and off at regular intervals, we have found:
- The haze spreads better and stays drier
without residue or using too much fluid.
- It keeps the haze from being too thick.
Being invisible is key to our program.
- It provides less consumption of product at the right times. The one gallon per month can only work with automation.
- It pulses the particles further without over-saturating the air with too much product.
- Too much haze is as bad as too little. Proper settings are key to best results. It’s like driving a car 90 mph in a 35 mph zone if you leave it on all the time.
- The birds have nothing
to relate to the discomfort. The haze stays invisible, they
don’t know when it will be coming. They can only relate
to your facility being the problem. So they go away and
stay away.
Long periods of time can be completely hazed sufficiently with only small amounts of fluid. Each hour of haze only uses 6 minutes of the overall setting. This allows you to only use one gallon per month without overuse.
For open outdoor areas
The Bird Buffer will cover a one acre area when
strategically placed with wind assistance or a wind machine.
To check wind direction and best placement, use the Windicator
Can of spray smoke to determine coverage.
The organic Bird Buffer formulation
Rejex-it Bird Repellent is used without any
dilution. It is an organic formulation made from grape extract
concentrate which does not mix with water. It is a registered
product for approved use with bird control and cannot be changed
in its composition.

Easy Setup,
Instant Results
Simply select a stable, even surface, or hang
in a suitably recommended location. Add Rejex-It
fluid to Bird Buffer, plug in the Remote Control
Timer, position the unit, plug it in and your
ready to go. Bird Buffer runs on standard 110VAC
and draws 9-11 amps. (230VAC, 50Hz, 8A)

Rejex-it consumption
Bird Buffer requires very little product. Two
ounces are generally enough to cover 4 acres per day. Usually
two weeks are sufficient to control established flocks of
birds from the treated area. While some birds will try to
return, the subsequent operation of running less and less
each month will be enough to continuously deter the flying
birds from returning.
The best time to haze
Best results are achieved when birds become active, flying
vigorously in the early morning and evening, just before settling down
for the night. Set the clock timer for the early morning when they
actively fly to look for their preferred feeding grounds and late
afternoon when they can fly to locations to relocate. It is important
to expose the birds when flying in or out of the area so they have time
to find another location before dark. This is a training process that
takes several weeks.
