For Spraying large areas once a week to keep birds away, use the Avian Spray Kit, mix your own batch by using a lot of water and spray roofs, gardens, bushes, lawns and even airport runways.  We sell the Avian in many sizes.  This is just an introductory size to give you enough to spray your roof or porch area 7-10 times, every 7-10 days.

Q. Can I use an electric powered, backpack or pump-up sprayer to apply Avian Control® Bird Repellent?

A. Yes, you can. Refer to “Spray Application Directions” of the label for complete details. If your area is less than one acres, see the table below:

1/8 acre (5,445 sq. ft.) Mix 3-4 ounces of Avian Control® with 1-1.5 ounces of surfactant* and add to 12.5 gallons of water.
1/4 acre (10,890 sq. ft.) Mix 6-8 ounces of Avian Control® with 2-3 ounces of surfactant* and add to 25 gallons of water.
1/2 acre (21,780 sq. ft.) Mix 12-16 ounces of Avian Control® with 4-6 ounces of surfactant* and add to 50 gallons of water.

 

If you do not have BirdBuffer surfactant, you may substitute a hand dishwashing detergent such as Dawn, Palmolive or Joy.

Q. What type of spray pattern is preferred?

A. A fine mist that covers the entire area to be treated is the preferred pattern.

Q. Can Avian Control® Bird Repellent be used on painted or stained wood, vinyl or aluminum siding or other exterior or interior surfaces?

A. It is recommended that the solution of Avian Control® be tested on an inconspicuous area to determine the potential for damage or discoloration. Avian Control® should not be used in or on occupied dwellings.

Q. If I am treating my lawn for geese, how often should I apply Avian Control®?

A. It is suggested that Avian Control® be applied at 7 to 14 day intervals or after every mowing/rain. Refer to “Spray Application Directions, Landfills, Turf” of the label for complete details. Re-application is suggested in the event of a significant rainfall.

Q. Can we spray animal feed to keep birds away?
A. Yes, we have just been approved for animal food spraying to keep the birds away. Apply once every few days of replacing the food.

  • Add above ingredients to sprayer; mix thoroughly.
  • Set sprayer mix level at 1/3 oz. (2 tsp) per gallon of water.
  • Apply evenly at a fine mist setting for best coverage.
  • Operate sprayer until all of the fluid in the tank has been expended.
  • Apply every 7-14 days or after each mowing for continuous coverage.
